John Zak is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. He specializes in trauma therapy and works with people experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and the lasting effects of difficult or overwhelming experiences.
John tailors therapy to each person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on the client and their goals, he may draw on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Family Systems.
John works with adults and older teens navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and related concerns. He sees clients in person at his White Rock office and virtually for those elsewhere in British Columbia.
John's approach is direct, grounded and focused on helping clients make practical, meaningful change. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
